President's Welcome

Welcome to the Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education (SCUPE). For over 30 years, SCUPE has provided contextual, experiential, holistic and community oriented urban theological education for students, pastors and theological educators.

Cities and urban communities are living, creative, dynamic places where one finds ample evidence of the spirit of God. Our commitment is to contextual theological education that begins with an exegesis of the city.  We enable leaders to bless the good, solve urban issues, and nurture prophetic imagination – all to develop leadership skills that transform urban communities.

I invite you to consider how SCUPE’s experiential programs might be useful in developing your capacity as an individual or community organization. We also provide consultation and customized programs of education for various organizations and institutions. You are also welcomed to join our mailing list, or to support our work as a donor or volunteer.
